The 2012 Wrangler: Reality That’s Too Good for Television

There were no reality TV shows about the Jeep Wrangler makeover, but the results are more stunning than any ever seen on TV. The final product, the 2012 Wrangler, is both the toughest and most comfortable line of off-road vehicles ever built. For off-road travelers, whether working or playing, the Wrangler is the top choice.

The drive train is the 2012 Wrangler’s standout feature. The new 3.6-liter Pentastar engine delivers dramatic improvements in almost every category. Horsepower is up a whopping 35 percent to 285 horsepower, but mileage still improved ten percent, to 21 mpg on the highway. Torque is also up ten percent, while acceleration from 0-60 mph fell to 8.4 seconds from 11.4 seconds. The transmission options include both 5-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmissions.

For those that work and play hard, the Wrangler’s special features set it apart from competitors. The vehicle is designed to allow thorough interior cleanings. Carpets are easy to remove. There is a drain hole in the floor to make it easy to wash out mud and dirt. Handholds over doors are standard. On the underside, the Wrangler’s transmission pan, oil pan, transfer case and gas tank are protected by rugged skid plates.

Despite its spectacular off-road features, the Wrangler is more comfortable than ever before. With optional heated seats, cruise control, and its quietest ride ever, it’s the best Wrangler yet for the pavement. The Wrangler makeover won’t be on TV soon.
