The Chevrolet Silverado received a slight redesign for the 2012 model year, with Chevy giving the front end a sleek new look and adding new features, including a White Diamond package and optional in-cabin WiFi. The in-cabin WiFi is available on all Silverado models as an optional add-on.
The Silverado still comes in four basic configurations: the standard 1500 model, the 2500 and 3500HD models, and the Hybrid model.
Cab configurations include the classic regular cab, the extended cab and the crew cab — a true four-door model that blends cargo and passenger capacity.
Buyers can choose from four engines on the 2012 Silverado: a 4.3L V6, 4.8L V8, 5.3L V8 or the heavy-duty 6.2L V8.
Even the entry-level Work Truck package comes well equipped, with features like anti-lock brakes, 17-inch wheels, remote keyless entry, trailer sway control and hill start assist.
Optional features and packages include the Chrome Appearance Package, the Z-71 Off Road Package, Bluetooth and the Interior Plus Package. The latter adds a six-way power seat, an in-dash MP3 player, steering-wheel mounted audio controls, dual-zone automatic climate controls, fog lamps and Chevy’s EZ Lock tailgate.
The award-winning OnStar is also standard on all models with the exception of the Work Truck package, and comes with six months of free service.
New colors for the 2012 Silverado include Mocha Steel Metallic, Black Granite Metallic, Graystone Metallic and Silver Ice Metallic. The White Diamond Tricoat color is available on the LT and LTZ crew cab models.
